Built With Retrofuturism In Mind

There are plenty of startups building electric cars all across the globe at the moment, but this particular example from Japan has caught our attention with its stunning appearance. Created by Nagoya-based electric car manufacturer Blaze, the elegant EV Classic combines an everlasting design inherited from the past with cutting-edge modern technology.

Taking design cues from the 1930s to the 1960s, the EV Classic is a celebration of retrofuturism. The vehicle measures a tiny 2,330 mm long, 1,170 mm wide, and 1,160 mm tall, and weighs just 200 kg. It’s not built for speed, mind you, with a top speed of only 50 km/h — but it can be conveniently charged via a household outlet. It takes eight hours to fully charge the battery and each charge allows a range of 50 km.

The wire-spoked wheels follow the traditions of British sports cars of yesteryear, while the circular bright LED lights ensure high visibility.

Blaze EV Classic is offered in four colours including silver, black, smoky green, and mystic red and is priced at 880,000 yen. Sadly it’s only available in Japan at the moment.
