Chavin and its influence
In ceramics, as well as in textiles and sculpture, the Chavin culture defined the later development of these arts in the Andean world. This underlying character can be seen in the recurrence of motifs, how they are represented, the shape of the objects and in numerous stylistic details.
The permanence of this tradition is associated with a world view that was synthesized by this culture and inherited by many more complex societies in this part of the world.
