Collectors’ Hyperboat
Italian design studio Zagato Atelier has been bringing us extraordinary vehicles since the earliest days of coachbuilding, and the company’s latest masterpiece comes in the form of a hyperboat — the Persico Zagato 100.2 — which has been developed in collaboration with Persico Marine.
The design of the Persico Zagato 100.2 references the traditional ‘canot automobile’ of the early 20th century and combines it with modern technology. The 100 per cent electric day cruising powerboat is just under 8 metres long and has a main beam of 2.45 metres, meaning it can be loaded on a trailer for transportation. The 205 kW DeepSpeed electric motor propelling the boat was developed by fellow Italian start-up Sealence.
The Persico Zagato 100.2 can be fitted with either one battery pack as the Sport version or two battery packs as the Long Range version. The Sport has its advantage in speed, reaching over 80 km/h at full clip and cruising at 48 km/h, while the Long Range version offers 88 km of range at cruising speed.
Only nine examples of the Persico Zagato 100.2 ‘Limited Launch Edition’ will be available. Owners will be able to opt for their own unique colours and finishes and the first example will be delivered end of 2023.
