Feminism in our era

Feminism in our era

The 21st-century feminist movement has a hard time establishing itself in a male-dominated world because of certain misunderstandings between what a feminist ought to be versus what a feminist is; in a time that coincides with the social restructuring of certain systems. The whole civilization currently lies at crossroads between the values of the 21st century against those of the 20th so while trying to fight for woman’s rights we must also fight for those beliefs and values that have affected the entire civilization as well.

Beyond that, this presents a conundrum of having entirely different opinions of what a feminist is because so many people are readjusting their entire thought process to fit with new-wave outcomes of thought brought on by internet perspectives. Many feminists are having differences amongst themselves while new types of feminists have also begun to emerge.

It is generally understood that girls mature faster than boys by this assertion, have we ever looked at why this is?

In my view gender roles have no doubt impacted the way in which relationships operate; boys have been discouraged to express themselves emotionally from a young age. It is that men do not show emotional vulnerability too often lest it makes them look weak. This undisputed belief in our civilization makes one question whether this has not been a limiting psychological development in boys. Emotional intelligence plays a large role, not only in social human development but more importantly in intellectual life as well, if an individual does not develop emotionally, it limits their judgment on decisions that encompass intellectuality, often these cognitive judgments require emotional maturity to formulate reasonable and intelligent conclusions. As an individual grows older and maintains keeping certain aspects of their nature hidden from themselves due to what they have been taught, they limit themselves from developing their overall psyche.

This developmental difference is best observed in adolescence where a vast majority of growing up is achieved, emotional intelligence can be argued to be a parent towards maturity. In the adolescent stage the human experiences that are predominant in influencing the physical, and hormonal transformations become embedded in the psyche, it is also the stage of their life which indicates the readiness of the adolescent individual to develop the urge to create intimate relationships with the opposite sex.

Emotional intelligence plays a large role, not only in social human development but more importantly in intellectual life as well, if an individual does not develop emotionally, it limits their judgment on decisions that encompass their entire intellectuality.

Since this is the stage when the maturity gap is at its widest between the sexes; girls naturally drift towards boys who showcase more emotional maturity, and these are of course older boys in most cases. This brings me to my next point; that of a woman’s oppressive unconscious development. In most relationships it is usually assumed that since the older person has more life experience, they, therefore, possess more knowledge; when adolescent girls are in relationships with older boys, they tend to develop unconscious subordination towards these older boys that later manifests itself in later life. The assumption of them having more life experience makes it easier for girls to give up a lot of their freedom willingly, but unknowingly of thought; to most of those who are still new to being in relationships, this weird unaware agreement quickly becomes the norm and becomes a lifelong act of subordination.

However, it’s not as straightforward as that, in most cases the reason they are more attracted to older guys is that they generally are mutually emotionally compatible at that stage but these older guys do still have more life experience and might have been in more relationships than their counterparts, this gives them leverage over the girls, this leverage is usually manipulated to bring them into subordination, sometimes unknowingly on the male’s part as well.

It leaves a multitude of thoughts lingering, what exactly does this imply in terms of social hierarchy? Is this the way God created the world to be, and if so why? Are these questions valid reasons to question the entire social system of our current world? It throws nearly every social relationship we have in question; these are the queries which we should consider if we want to speak of the expansive restructuring of our social order.

Is this the way God created the world to be, and if so why?
