Not only will the successful bidder take home this outstanding single malt, one of just 290 bottles of the 72 Year Old, which was also named World’s Finest Single Cask and Scottish Single Malt Whisky of the Year – 2022, but it is accompanied by a one-off NFT artwork and its original, titled ‘Year of the Dram 2022’ created by political cartoonist Harry Harrison that celebrates Hong Kong and whisky in 1948.

The NFT that accompanies the whisky is the first project of Meta Malts, a Hong Kong company that aims to “bring the realm of investment in fine and rare whisky to a wider audience through tokenisation” according to its founder, Nicholas Breton.

Presented in a hand-cut crystal decanter, this rare whisky and accompanying NFT is estimated at HK$700,000-HK$900,000 and is expected to set a new world record price. The auction will take place at Bonham’s in Hong Kong on May 20, 2022 and also features other coveted whisky collectibles including the Yamazaki 50 Year Old, with an estimate of HK$3,500,000-HK$5,000,000.
