Retro Gaming Recreation

For the younger generation, the idea of leaving the house to play video games probably seems absurd but for people who came up in the 80s and 90s, visiting gaming arcades after school was an everyday part of childhood.  Designer Jody Del Bianco of JodinskyLab has created an arcade cabinet that allows older gaming fans to recreate that classic arcade feel in the comfort of their own home.

The arcade cabinet follows the silhouette of the classic machines that we’re all familiar with, using a streamlined multilayer birch wood cabinet measuring 180 cm tall, 60 cm wide, and 63 cm deep. At the centre of the cabinet is a 24-inch LCD touchscreen display. With Raspberry Pi 4 hardware and RetroPie software installed, emulating games from over 60 game systems from Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and more isn’t a problem. Not to be missed are the full-size joysticks and buttons for two players to play against each other.

Gamers can also install their modern gaming consoles and related accessories to the Arcade Cabinet, making full use of this stunning piece and creating a gaming station for both retro and new games.
