Sleek Sim Racing At Home
Prodrive has been in the motorsport engineering and race car building game for 35 years now. With that kind of experience, when the company announced it had created a first-class racing simulator, people were understandably lining up to put in an order.
A collaboration between Prodrive and design and engineering house Callum, the Prodrive Racing Simulator is housed inside a canopy of 16 layers of birch finished in lacquered gloss black, making it a beautiful piece of furniture in any modern home in addition to being functional. The carbon fibre monocoque can be compared to those found on real cars, as is the Cobra Nogaro sports seat. The simulator system is built with a 12GB GeForce RTX graphics card and 16GB of memory. Combine that power with the extra-wide AOC 49-inch dual-QHD 5K resolution curved monitor, Precision Sim Engineering LM Pro steering wheel with five rotary dials, 12 push buttons and carbon fibre paddles, Simucube 2 PRO steering motor, mechanical pedal box, and Bowers & Wilkins PX7 wireless headphones, and Prodrive have built one seriously high-end sim rig.
The entire simulator only requires a single power lead and other wires and plugs are all hidden, maintaining a sleek appearance. Priced at £39,000 excluding tax and delivery fee, Prodrive will even help with setting it up.
