The Flagship Football Game
As EA Sports and FIFA’s 30 years partnership ended last year, the gaming giant has developed its own football game series EA Sports FC, kicking off with FC 24 launching on 29 September on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. With over 700 clubs, 30 leagues and 19,000 players, it is surely the football game to look forward to.
Fans of the FIFA franchise will feel the familiarity in EA Sports FC 24, but with a revamped look and heaps of upgrades, the new game surely looks sleeker and is more engaging to play. One of the most obvious aspects is the exceptional level of realism from players’ appearances and actions to the overall vibes inside the stadium.
While the HyperMotion technology was already very impressive in FIFA 23, the latest HyperMotion V just pushes things even further thanks to the huge amount of data of over 180 top-tier matches, including UEFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League, English Premier League and Spanish La Liga. The movements of all 22 players on the pitch are smooth and fluid as in real matches, and with the help of AI Mimic, the unique gestures and body movements of top players can be magically recreated.
The supercharged Frostbite Engine is powered by all-new character technology, boosting authenticity from players’ facial features and physiques down to the ripple effects of their jerseys. The in-between moments are also more immersive, with footage of pundits and behind the scenes available during half-time and full-time. The introduction of PlayStyles gives players unique abilities to stand out on the pitch, and world-class players, including the game’s cover star Erling Haaland, have Playstyles+ for getting that extra power.
The Ultimate Team has been brought forward from the FIFA franchise, but it is the first time gamers are able to put male and female players under the same team. The Career Experiences as a club manager or a players are also enriched with new viewing cameras and Dynamic Moments.
Cross-play is available to Clubs and Volta Football in addition to other game modes. Friends can share a club across platforms as long as they play from the same generation console, i.e. PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC players in the same pitch, separating from the PS4/Xbox One players.
EA Sports FC 24 will be released on 29 September. Those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition can get early access to the game plus other perks.
