The Ultimate GT

The Ultimate GT

Ford has just introduced its most extreme GT — the 2023 Ford GT Mk IV. The new track-only supercar references the legendary original Mk IV that won the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans — even the production number of this limited edition is set to just 67 examples.

As the final version of the Ford GT, the Ford GT Mk IV has been created by Ford Performance and Multimatic. The track-only GT is powered by the twin-turbo EcoBoost engine that can be found on the road-going version, though this iteration has seen an increase in displacement and power — over 800hp. Other upgrades include a beefed-up transmission and Multimatic’s Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) suspension.

The chassis has also been extended with a longer wheelbase, and the carbon fibre body sees major improvements and an aero-focused design. With its radically-widened body, new aero parts such as the prominent front splitter, mega rear wing, roof air intake and more, the latest GT is the epitome of higher-level motorsport engineering and performance.

With a starting price at US$ 1.7 million, each of the 2023 Ford GT Mk IVs will be hand-built at Multimatic’s facility in Markham, Ontario, with the first delivery expected in late spring 2023.
