Upgraded To 64-Bit
French startup Pixii originally brought us a display-less digital camera with a Leica-M compatible lens mount a couple of years ago, and now the company has returned to offer yet another unique product with the Model A2572, which is the world’s first 64-bit camera.
The new Pixii features 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 architecture, making it the most powerful processor ever in a camera. With dedicated NPU and VPU cores, the Model A2572 is able to take true monochrome DNGs, and now offers five to ten times faster processing and three times faster file transfer when compared with the previous generation.
The new 26MP BSI sensor sports an extended native ISO range from 160 to 12800, and features an interesting interactive viewfinder that is enhanced with a new miniature display and augmented reality features. Through this technology, the camera settings are directly projected into the optical viewfinder, allowing for a more immersive experience.
Battery life has also been extended and with a new ‘Eco’ mode, an extra 25 percent increase in battery can be achieved. A range of internal memory options from 32GB and up to 128GB can be selected for the new camera, which means over 3,000 DNG files can be stored directly on the Pixii Model A2572.
